Our Injection Clinic

What is a Joint Injection?

Meant to treat inflammation in the body, Joint injections are a quick and easy procedure where a needle is inserted into the affected area to help relieve swelling or other uncomfortable joint conditions such as:

  • Arthritis

  • Tendinitis

  • Carpal Tunnel

  • Athletic Injuries

The injection clinic here at Ortho SA is specifically designed just for injections, so it helps us fast-track patients that just need those injections. It's normal to have some soreness after the injection and recommended to avoid any strenuous activities two days after the procedure.

What is PRP?

PRP stands for platelet-rich plasma, which contains a lot of your body's growth factors that help promote healing and anti-inflammatory. This decreases most pain in your joints or chronic injuries, including your tendons and ligaments.

PRP VS. Orthobiologics

PRP and Orthobiologics are both very similar in that they both decrease pain and chronic conditions. The major difference is that Orthobiologics are a little bit more costly and a little bit more painful to obtain.

A Success Story

Ramy Noche, M.D., a sports medicine specialist, discusses his favorite success story of a young athlete who had a chronic elbow injury that wasn't healing with therapy alone. After doing a PRP injection in his elbow, he returned to throwing normally and was relieved of any pain. The PRP helped heal his UCL, which had a chronic tear.
